The School is situated on the main Mahatma Gandhi Road at Kankhal, Haridwar away from the density of the city center, but at the same time, easily accessible to students living in different parts of the city.
Gardens and playgrounds surround the school building which houses approximately 4400 square meters of teaching space containing modern classrooms and well-equipped laboratories. From its firm foundation, the school building reaches step by step to a height of four storeys - a reflection of the school's aspiration to provide a sound base from which the students will rise to great heights. Careful thought and emphasis has been given to provide well-ventilated spacious classrooms with plenty of natural light. Every classroom is equipped with CCTV, display boards and custom made furniture. The higher classes also feature custom built projector screens and hardware.
The School has highly efficient, well maintained bus transport facility for the benefit of its students manned by trained drivers and conductors who take every care in the transportation of the children back and forth from the school.
The power supply to the campus is backed by a modern diesel generator to ensure uninterrupted power supply throughout the day. No compromise is made on the power needs of the school.
Separate laboratories for Physics, Chemistry and Biology are situated on the ground floor for easy access at all times and are equipped in accordance with the specifications of the national examination boards.
The Physics lab is constructed in a large room; around 20 to 25 students can be comfortably accommodated in it. The lab is well-equipped with appliances needed for experiments and demonstration. Students conduct their practical under the close supervision of the subject teacher and a trained lab assistant.
The chemistry lab is housed in an adequately ventilated and spacious room; it can comfortably accommodate 20 to 25 students. The lab contains equipments, chemicals and infrastructure required for chemistry experiments and demonstration. In order to ensure the safety of the students, they are allowed to use potentially hazardous chemicals for experiments only under the cautious gaze of teacher and/ or lab assistant.
The lab is situated in a spacious room that can easily accommodate 20 to 25 students. The lab contains all the equipments and infrastructure required to conduct experiments and demonstration. Life-size skeletons, biology models and charts greatly facilitate the students in gaining an in depth understanding of the subject. Students conduct their experiments under the close supervision of the subject teacher and a trained lab assistant.
The school library is a welcoming place for study and reading. Our school has a big library to support the students and teachers by providing access to current, adequate and appropriate study material. There is seating capacity of 50 children in the library. Our experienced librarian is always present in the library.
Swami Hariharanand Public School boasts of having one of the finest swimming pools alongwith shower rooms in the city of Haridwar and provides for separate coaching for girls and boys. The pool is regularly cleaned to ensure cleanliness and hygiene.
Music is an extremely valuable means of relieving stress and relaxation. Students are trained in Hindustani classical and semi-classical music. The room consists of different kinds of musical instruments like: tabla, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, sitar, flutes, drum, congo, tambourine etc. Two teachers well-trained in Hindustani music coach the students in musical instruments and/ or vocal music. Adequate oppourtunities are made available to them to display their proficiency.
The School places great importance on the health and safety of the students. First-aid facility is available in the school. The campus is watched over manually round-the-clock by trained security personnel to ensure the safety and security of the students. CCTV cameras installed ethically all over the school are monitored full time to ensure student safety. The School provides for appropriate fire safety equipment as well.
Computer lab serves as a centre to teach computer to all the students. There are 40 computers in our computer lab. We also have well qualified faculty. Each student gets an individual computer for practical work. All the computers have appropriate and latest version of softwares according to the need of students like for classes 9th to 12th , we have BlueJ software to compile and run java programs.
